The Isle of the Cat is a current work in progress. I began the outline to this story when I was halfway through with The Magical Miracle. I knew that I had to get the story line down before I lost it, I thought I was on to something with it. I usually concern myself with the fantasy side of writing for children and young adults, but this adventure story was calling out to me.

The story is based around a family of scientists. The father, Thomas, is an Archeologist and the mother, Carolyn, is a Botanist. Their children, Bud, Melissa and Melody. We start out our story at the Alexander family's home in Utah where Thomas Alexander is a professor at the University of Utah. He has been busy trying to get funding for a archeology job on a tropical island. The island was located somewhere between the equator and Hawaii, it was a fairly small island. Very few people had heard about it and even fewer have been there. There was an air of mystery about it. It is said that whoever visits the island is never seen or heard from again. If fact, the local tribe had even disappeared without an apparent reason. There have been several expeditions to this island by other archeologists, but none had ever been heard from again.

Thomas never goes anywhere without his family. his children are raised with tutors, for he believes that his children would learn more out in the field with him than they would in a proper school environment. So he packs his family up and off they head to this island to find out what had happened to his fellow explorer's and the natives.

When they reach the isle though, they are dismayed to find skeleton's littering the island. . . but no apparent reason for the death. The only clue they found was a large tooth. Thomas takes on the job of finding out what happened to these people. With his son, daughters and wife at his side, along with his competent research team, Thomas began the chore of piecing together the clues that they find along their search...
