Missy cannot sleep, so she decides to take a walk through the forest to the river. A strange fog has fallen, obscuring the way. As she nears the river, a man she has never seen before comes out of the trees and approaches her. She flees through the forest in terror and crashes into a tree where she is knocked unconscious. When she awakes, she has no recollection of who or where she is . . .

Missy is faced with danger and intrigue as she is battles to solve the mystery in the forest surrounding her family home. With a strange man, and her godfather, she searches out the clues. Clues that lead her to danger in the woods, where she faces the very real possibility that her life will become forfeit . . .
