This practice involves standing outside and facing the four corners (directions) of the Earth . . . North, South, East and West. You can begin in any corner. I start by East and turn to face North and West until I faced South, because this is where I get the most energy. This does not have a time limit on it, you can be fast, or you can be slow. It depends on how much energy you wish to collect. Start in the direction that you prefer so you finish facing in the direction you enjoy the most . . . You may associate it with a view or feeling, for example the direction where I get the most of my energy is from the south, which is associated with fire. While standing, hold your arms out to your side. You may hold them so they are diagonal from your body, straight out, or even straight up. It is your choice. Whichever position you choose, make sure your palms are facing forward. That is where the energy flows into you from. As your standing with your arms out and palms forward, closer eyes and breathe deep. Start picturing an image in your head and heart of a door opening (the doors can be as plan or as fancy as you want. This is your image, you have total control.) Picture the wind rushing through, ruffling things in its path. Continue to breathe deep. Slowly open your eyes, but keep the picture of the wind rushing through the door in your mind. Start turning counter-clockwise until you are facing the next corner of the earth. Be sure to keep the picture of the door and the wind in mind of breathe deep. Again close your eyes and breathe deep, then open your eyes again. Repeat this to more times. By now you are facing your favorite direction. You can end of this now by slowly lowering your arms or you can take one last step and with the picture still in mind and arms still extended, look straight up. Tilt your head back as far as it will comfortably go and repeat the breathing process. When you’re done, you should feel refreshed, your mind should feel alert and ready to be creative again. |
